James Benning: Trial Run
Jim Benning was here a few days, and things were a bit rushed. His role was as a the anchor of the film, so getting it right was a priority. He arrived and in 30 minutes he was on the couch here at Marshall Gaddis’ place, where we’re staying (and shooting) and I shot as he showed me his version of one of the two core elements of the film. The next day we shot it in the place where James’ character is supposed to live (house of a friend from Bell Diamond days, Hal Waldrup). There he nailed it.
